Which films do you want to watch at 2020 Outdoor Cinema?
Movie lovers are being invited to choose the films that are shown at this year’s popular Outdoor Cinema, in the picturesque Castle Grounds
More than 1,000 movie lovers took to social media and online last year to cast their votes, with Bohemian Rhapsody and Beetlejuice coming out top from a shortlist of films they would most like to see on a big screen in the great outdoors.
As a result of successful past events, the film selection is again being put out to a public vote, from a shortlist of approved movies. This summer’s Outdoor Cinema takes place on Saturday, August 8, and will again include one movie at 9pm, followed by a midnight movie.
Choices for the 9pm show are:
- Rocketman
- The Greatest Showman
- Coyote Ugly
- Grease
- Moulin Rouge
- Chicago
Choices for the midnight movie are:
- The Shining
- Alien
- Jaws
- Silence of the Lambs
- American Werewolf in London
- The Blair Witch Project
The Outdoor Cinema and audience poll is again being organised by Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts and Events team as part of the 2020 programme of events.
Votes can be cast via the Tamworth Arts and Events Facebook page or online via: www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk. Cllr John Chesworth, Cabinet member for Culture and Operational Services, said: “This will be the eighth year for the Outdoor Cinema and it’s just growing in popularity all the time, enjoyed by sell-out crowds each year.
“People are invited to get involved in the decision-making process and join the public vote again. Tickets will be on sale soon after the results are in, so I’d encourage anyone who would enjoy watching classic movies on a giant screen under the stars, to keep an eye out for details.”
Polls will be open from January 17 and votes can be cast until January 31, just in time for the tickets to go on sale by Valentine’s Day – perfect gift idea for a loved one!
The Outdoor Cinema is just one element of a packed programme of outdoor events that has been confirmed for 2020. The full outdoor events programme is available at: www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk/whats-on .
